Job summary

The YMCA of South Hampton Roads is seeking a diligent Maintenance/Housekeeping team member to provide exemplary service to members and maintain clean, safe facilities. You will perform cleaning, mopping, dusting, trash removal, window washing, pool cleaning, and basic repairs while following established sanitation practices.

You will work in an indoor/outdoor environment, with physical duties including lifting up to 50 pounds, and you will help set up for events and ensure security of the

Qualifications

• Six months or more of related cleaning experience.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
• Safe handling of chemicals; adhere to sanitation practices.
• Abides by YMCA COVID sanitation practices and standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness by following the daily schedule and upkeep of assigned area and equipment.
• Perform wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, window washing, pool cleaning, painting, vacuuming, and lawn/snow tasks as needed.
• Operate related motorized and non-motorized equipment.
• Handle light repairs such as replacing bulbs, ceiling tiles, and painting as directed.
• Record and report repairs; perform repairs as directed.
• Ensure building security during shift and report hazards to supervisor.
• Set up furniture for events.
