Job summary

Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges is seeking a part-time Maintenance Aide to support the Y's mission by keeping facilities clean and safe. Responsibilities include mopping, dusting, trash removal, window washing, setup/breakdown for events, pool and grounds upkeep, and reporting repairs.

The role requires a High School Diploma and at least three years in maintenance or related work, the ability to read and follow manuals, and knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years in general maintenance or related experience preferred.
• Ability to interpret written instructions and manuals.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the YMCA is attractive and clean by completing duties on the daily schedule and upkeep of assigned areas.
• Wet and dust mop, dust, trash removal, recycling, window washing, vacuuming, bathrooms, hallways, stairs, gym area and grounds.
• Record and report repairs; perform repairs as directed.
• Maintain security of the building and report hazards to supervisor.
• Replace soap, paper towels, and other supplies.
• Set up and breakdown of functions and events.
• Repair equipment as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
