Job summary

Champaign County is seeking a Custodian (Full-Time, Non-Exempt) to maintain cleanliness of 20,000 sq ft, support mail services, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment on the Champaign County campus.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED or equivalent, and offers a union-affiliated AFSCME contract with a competitive benefits package. Work hours are 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, 12:30 p.m.–9:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning methods and procedures.
• Ability to communicate in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Ability to follow written/oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors, offices, and public spaces.
• Operate cleaning equipment and maintain housekeeping tools.
• Washes windows and assists with mail services for the County.
• Identify cleaning problems and determine remedies.
