Job summary

MSU Residential and Hospitality Services in University City, MO, is seeking a Facilities Building Worker for University Apartments (University Village and 1855 Place).

Typical duties include washing walls and windows, trash removal, cleaning upholstery, setting up and tearing down furniture for events, and occasional heavy machinery operation. You will develop time management, professional excellence, and teamwork through hands-on, customer-focused work.

Qualifications

• Be enrolled as a student at Michigan State University (during academic year)
• Commitment to outstanding customer service
• Able to complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision
• Positive and respectful, especially when working with a diverse population
• Possess a valid U.S. Issued Drivers License and be able to meet and maintain the University’s driving standards
• Able to work at least 20 hours a week
• Able to occasionally work nights and/or weekends
• Able to move up to 20 pounds and stand for long periods of time

Pay Rate: $16.00

Typical Duties May Include

• Washing walls and windows, emptying trash, changing compactor carts, and cleaning bathroom walls
• Clean upholstery and carpet, buff and scrub floors, and make minor repairs
• Set-up and tear-down furniture after events
• Occasionally operate heavy machinery
