Job summary

Bellwether Housing is seeking a Facilities Associate I for The BLVD Apartments to maintain cleanliness, safety, and appearance of the property. You will perform routine groundskeeping and janitorial duties, ensuring a welcoming environment for residents and supporting the facilities team with day-to-day tasks.

The role involves cleaning common areas, preparing units for rental, and learning basic maintenance.

Qualifications

  • One year of custodial experience in a residential setting or two years in a public/private facility.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with basic cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to safety policies.

Responsibilities

  • Clean building common areas and grounds.
  • Clean and prepare apartment units for rental.
  • Complete rounds and perform cleaning tasks as needed.
  • Learn to complete routine maintenance requests in building and units.
  • Track inventory and report replenishment needs.
  • Assist staff with seasonal conditions and safety duties.
  • Attend scheduled team meetings.
  • Assist inspections of apartment units.
  • Refer resident concerns to Site Manager and Maintenance Manager.

Salary:

$22.74-$26.87/hour

The posted salary reflects the full pay range for this position. Offers made to qualified candidates will be made within this range and will bedeterminedbyvarious factorsincluding knowledge, skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other factors that would be critical to success in this role.

Position Overview:

We’re looking for a dedicated and proactive Facilities Associate I to join our team at The BLVD Apartments, a community that provides vital housing to those qualifying under the Low-Income Tax Credit Programs.

In this role,you’llhelpmaintainthe overall cleanliness, safety, and appearance ofthisBellwether propertyby performing routine groundskeeping and janitorial duties.You’llplay a key part in creating a welcoming environment for residents by staying attentive to daily cleaning needs, addressing issues as they arise, and supporting the broader facilities team in keeping the property in excellent condition.

Work Schedule:

On-site, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm or 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. The final schedule is to be determined by the supervisor.

Your Impact:
  • Clean buildingcommon areasand grounds.
  • Clean and prepare apartment units for rental.
  • Complete rounds of the property and perform cleaning tasks as needed.
  • Learn to complete routine general maintenance requests in building and apartment units.
  • Track the inventory of supplies and parts used to complete work, and report to the supervisor when replenishment is needed.
  • Assistbuilding and other maintenance staff in responding to seasonal conditions, such as clearing snow, ice, and leaves, tomaintainsafe walkways.
  • Attendscheduled team meetings.
  • Assistthe building staff with routine inspections of apartment units.
  • Refer resident concerns to the Site Manager and Maintenance Manager.
  • Follow andcomply withBellwether safety policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Who You Are:
  • Willingness and aptitude to learn basic cleaning and maintenance skills.
  • One year of prior custodial experience in a residential setting or two years of custodial experience in a public or private facility.
  • Ability to complete strenuous work.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to safelyoperatepower tools (i.e., pressure washers) and cleaning chemicals.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education or experience preferred.
