Job summary

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s in facilities management or related field and 1–2 years of related experience, plus carpentry skills and the ability to lift 50+ lbs. A valid US driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in facilities management or related degree; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
• 1–2 years of related work experience.
• 3–5 years of carpentry experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with boardwalks and docks is a plus.
• Experience with rough carpentry and substructure repairs.
• Experience in carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing.
• Experience with facility/maintenance operations, heavy equipment operations, and transportation.
• Experience with maintaining small engine equipment, ATVs, tractors, vehicles and agricultural equipment.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the 2.25-mile boardwalk year-round and ensure safety for all visitors.
• Update work orders through maintenance software.
• Clean and organize shops, storage, fleet, and mechanical areas.
• Assess and troubleshoot equipment and perform repairs.
• Perform carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical tasks.
• Operate large equipment such as tractors, excavators, forklifts, and dump trucks.
• Supervise volunteers and coordinate group project days.
• Assist with events and setting up rooms as needed.
• Weekly/monthly travel to off-campus maintenance sites.
