Job summary

The Richmond County District Attorney's Office is seeking a Facilities Assistant within the Administration Bureau to handle daily ad-hoc requests and facility maintenance across all RCDA facilities. Responsibilities

  • Deliver time sensitive, confidential documents within NYC using agency vehicle or public transportation.
  • Respond to help desk tickets related to facilities maintenance.
  • Participate in facilities maintenance projects (painting, signage, furniture deliveries).
  • Assist with securing facilities by issuing IDs/keys and monitoring cameras.
  • Handle inter‑office deliveries and supply management for daily court functions.
  • Liaise with agencies (e.g., DCAS Engineers) to address building issues.
  • Update and maintain Fleet database and management system.
  • Gather reports on Fleet maintenance for the Director of Facilities.

Job description

RICHMOND COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY

The men and women of the Richmond County District Attorney’s office work each day in partnership with Law Enforcement and the people of Staten Island to pursue justice for victims of crime, to prevent crime in all its forms, and to promote the safety and well‑being of all citizens of our Borough.

THE BUREAU

This is a support staff role within the Administration Bureau. The Administration Bureau is made up of six units: Finance, Procurement, Human Capital, Information Technology, Facilities and Special Projects and Initiatives (SPI). The Administration Bureau serves as a customer service resource for the agency. As part of the Facilities team the selected candidate will serve as a Facilities Assistant; this team is responsible for managing daily ad‑hoc requests and maintenance of all RCDA facilities in support of our employees carrying out the agency’s mission.

THE ROLE
  • Deliver time sensitive and confidential documents throughout the 5 boroughs to various City and private agencies using agency vehicle and/or public transportation.
  • Respond to help desk ticket request for a range of issues related to for maintenance of all RCDA facilities.
  • Participate in facilities maintenance projects such as painting, signage maintenance, and furniture deliveries.
  • Assist with keeping RCDA facilities secure by producing employee and intern ID badges and keys as well as monitoring security cameras.
  • Inter office deliveries between floors and building of court documents and supplies for daily court/ office functions.
  • Liaise with various agencies including DCAS Engineers; serve as a representative of the RCDA to correct any building issues identified.
  • Updating and Maintaining Fleet database and management system.
  • Gather reports for Director of Facilities on Fleet maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned by Chief of Administration or Supervisor of Facilities.

Schedule: The selected candidate may be required to work overtime which may include weekends and holidays.

CIVIL SERVICE TITLE: COMMUNITY ASSSOCIATE

SALARY RANGE: $50,000 - $55,000 Commensurate with experience; full NYC benefits package

LOAN FORGIVENESS

The federal government provides student loans forgiveness through its Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PLF) to all qualifying public service employees. Working with the Staten Island District Attorney’s Office qualifies you as a public service employee, which forgives the remaining balance on your direct loans after you’ve reached a certain number of qualifying payments (most people use this to forgive school loans)! The candidate selected for this position must be a resident of the City of New York or become a resident within 90 days of appointment.

Residency Requirement

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
