Richmond County District Attorney’s Office seeks an experienced General Counsel to advise executive leadership on legal matters and oversee compliance and employment law programs. This role includes serving as EEO Officer, managing civil claims, and coordinating with NYC agencies on regulatory issues.
The position requires NY Bar admission and at least eight years of progressively responsible legal experience, including supervisory roles.
The Richmond County District Attorney’s Office is seeking an experienced Attorney who will serve as General Counsel. The General Counsel will report directly to the Chief Assistant District Attorney (CADA); working closely with the RCDA Executive team as well as other members of RCDA leadership. The selected candidate will counsel executive leadership and managers on questions of law, fact, and administrative policy; and will manage RCDA’s regulatory compliance portfolio and labor and employment law compliance portfolio; while also serving as the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Officer and litigation liaison.

Admission to the New York State Bar; and eight years of recent full‑time responsible, relevant, satisfactory legal experience after admission to any bar, eighteen months of which must have been in the supervision of other attorneys, in an administrative, managerial or executive capacity, or performing highly complex and significant legal work.
Incumbents must remain Members of the New York State Bar in good standing for the duration of this employment.

SALARY RANGE: $185,000 - $230,000 with full NYC benefits package
