Job summary

GDI Integrated Facility Services is seeking a shift supervisor to lead the janitorial team and ensure high standards of service across facilities. The role includes staffing, training, and coordinating daily tasks to meet client expectations.

You will manage timekeeping, payroll processes, and safety procedures while maintaining strong customer relations and operational efficiency. This position emphasizes leadership, accountability, and a proactive approach to problem solving.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years progressively increasing management experience in the janitorial industry.
• Ability to meet deadlines and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Able to multi-task.
• High integrity and discretion required.
• Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and train the janitorial staff and designate shift assignments.
• Respond quickly to customer concerns and ensure closure on issues.
• Onboard and train new employees, including hands‑on training.
• Train by example by performing duties for staff to shadow.
• Manage employee relations and performance, report to management/HR.
• Identify and communicate need for special project work.
• Review timekeeping and complete payroll documents to ensure correct pay.
• Maintain cleaning supplies inventory.
• Respond to calls as needed.
• Enforce safety policies and report accidents.
• Complete required training courses.
