Job summary

Access 2 Interpreters, LLC, the leading interpretation and translation service in Columbus, seeks bilingual interpreters for on-site assignments in medical and social service settings. You’ll interpret face-to-face at appointments, using your language skills to assist non-English speakers.

This contractor role offers a flexible, self-directed schedule with pay based on assignments completed. Qualified candidates must reside in Central Ohio, hold a high school diploma or equivalent, be eligible

Qualifications

• Must be located in Central Ohio.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Pass a Federal Criminal Background Check and a 10-panel drug screen.
• Provide proof of 40+ hours interpreter training.
• Provide Certification of Bilingual Proficiency or pay for a 3rd party bilingual evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face interpretation at medical, social service, and other appointments.
• Operate as a contractor with a flexible schedule.
• Accept assignments at any time; availability is 24/7/365.

Face to Face (not video or telephone) Interpretation

WHO WE ARE: Access 2 Interpreters, LLC, is the largest local interpretation & translation business in Columbus providing interpreters and translators locally and nation-wide. Our main office is located in Downtown Columbus.

As a face-to-face interpreter, you'll use your language skills to assist others during medical, social service and other types of appointments. Interpreting with Access is a great way to earn money. The more assignments you take, the more you can earn. It's perfect for those looking for a flexible schedule with good pay. Using your unique bilingual skills to help those in need who speak the language or dialect you speak is very rewarding.

What You Need To Know

• Your bilingual skills are in high demand!
• As a contractor, you decide your own schedule!
• Assignments are available 24/7/365! (Most assignments are requested during business hours.)
• Take as many or as few of our available assignments as you can!

Requirements

All applicants must:

• Be located in the Central Ohio area.
• Have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Be eligible to work in the United States.
• Pass a Federal Criminal Background Check based on fingerprints and a 10-panel drug screening (at no cost to you).
• Provide proof of program completion from an accredited interpreter training of at least 40 hours (e.g. Bridging the Gap, Access 2 Interpreters' "Access Academy", Court Interpretation, Certificate or Degree in interpretation from an accredited college or university).
• Provide Certification of Bilingual Proficiency or pay for and complete a 3rd Party Bilingual Fluency Evaluation through an accredited testing and evaluation organization.
