Job summary

NYC School Construction Authority (SCA) seeks an experienced Architect with expertise in façade design to lead technical direction on envelope systems for NYC public school projects. The role requires NYS registration and several years of project leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Level B requires valid NYS registration as an Architect and three years of full-time experience as a Registered Architect, two years as a project architect or equivalent responsibility.
• Level C requires valid NYS registration as an Architect and six years of full-time experience as a Registered Architect, three years as a project architect or equivalent responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on façade-related scope from concept through construction, ensuring design strategy, budget, and schedule alignment.
• Coordinate façade design with in-house Architects, engineers, consultants, fabricators, and suppliers to deliver integrated solutions.
• Evaluate envelope systems for movement, thermal and seismic performance, and wind-induced effects.
• Perform thermal analysis and condensation studies; conduct 2D/3D simulations for U-values and dew point.
• Oversee advanced façade analyses: structural behavior, thermal performance, moisture, air/water tightness, and durability.
• Develop façade details, specifications, and performance analyses; prepare 3D models and drawings.
