Job summary

Afinitas is seeking skilled welders/fabrication workers in a plant environment. The role involves interpreting basic drawings, setting up welding equipment (MIG, TIG, oxyacetylene), and performing basic grinding and painting.

You will measure dimensions with micrometers, inspect finished units, and maintain quality records. The schedule is Monday through Thursday from 5 am to 3 pm with overtime on Fridays as needed.

Qualifications

  • Ability to understand and interpret basic blueprints, specifications, and machined part prints.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate metal arc, shielded arc, or oxyacetylene equipment for welding, brazing, and flame cutting operations; set current, amperage, gas pressures and controls; select rod, wire, tips, electrodes for specific job at hand; fit, position, and secure with holding devices.
  • Perform basic saw operations and painting as required.
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
  • May measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers.
  • Assist with detection of defective material, unusual conditions or operating difficulties and report to supervisor.
  • Complete necessary documentation to ensure quality and production requirements.
  • Participate in team meetings to communicate and help resolve any cost, quality, or production issues; understand and apply engineering change request process.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Maintain equipment and work area in clean, orderly, and safe condition.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Description

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Works in a plant/manufacturing environment that involves the use of industrial machinery and chemicals. Employee must be able to correctly wear and use any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required at the location.
