Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller is seeking a plant operator for Afinitas facility in Kentucky. The role involves operating forklift and other equipment, welding procedures training, setting up tooling, and maintaining production readiness. You will work as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Candidates should be at least 18 years old, with forklift experience a plus, and basic MIG/TIG welding exposure. Strong teamwork, communication, and multitasking abilities are required.

Qualifications

• Prior forklift and operator experience a plus.
• Beginning level experience in MIG, TIG, and flex core welding.
• Team oriented and good communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate light, medium and heavy equipment including forklift.
• Operate hand tools related to steel fabrication and welding procedures as needed.
• Set up equipment and load raw materials for manufacturing processes.
• Maintain a clean workstation and adhere to safety procedures.
• Attend work reliably and complete assignments as directed.

Job Description:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operation of light, medium and heavy equipment including forklift.
• Operation of various hand-operated tools related to steel fabrication.
• Must be able to use welding equipment or the ability to learn welding procedures.
• Sets up equipment including jigs and the loading of the raw material that are needed in the manufacturing process.
• Cleans and maintains workstation to be used daily in the production process.
• Regular, timely attendance to meet organizational needs in an efficient and effective manner.
• Performs special projects or assignments as directed.
• Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

COMPENSATION

The approximate pay range for this position is $19-21/hour.
