Responsibilities

• Read and understand engineering drawings, schematics, blueprints and assembly instructions to determine materials, task order and welding requirements.
• Operate welding equipment to join metal components and develop patterns/templates to guide layouts.
• Fabricate and repair metal components and structures using welding, bolting and riveting; set up and operate heavy-duty machines to cut, bend, form and drill metal.
• Inspect finished welds to determine structural soundness and quality.
• Utilize TIG, MIG and arc welding as needed.
• Prepare material for welding using hand tools and grinders; install components into final product.
• Carry out routine maintenance on welding equipment.
• Ensure safety and quality control standards are met.
• Test products for functionality and troubleshoot and stress test to minimize issues.
• Report and detail product malfunctions.
