Job summary

Fravert in Birmingham, AL seeks a skilled fabricator to read engineering blueprints and fabricate metal/wood components. You will set up fabricating machines, perform quality checks, and contribute to on-time delivery with strong attention to detail and safety.

Experience with MIG/TIG welding or laser welding is preferred; candidates should read tape measures, perform basic math, and work well in a team environment. Hard physical work and lifting are required.

Responsibilities

• Conform with safety regulations to produce a safe environment and quality product.
• Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints.
• Constructing base templates if necessary.
• Measuring, marking, routing, cutting and bending metals.
• Setting up metalworking machinery (rollers, drill presses, torches, welders, brakes, shears).
• Double-checking design specifications before starting each job.
• Fabricating metal/wood components using welding, gluing, or fastening.
• Knowledge of MIG, TIG, or laser welding.
• Grinding and finishing; possible assembly on finished products.
• Performing quality checks on completed products.
• Operating forklift to move materials and finished products.
• Completing jobs timely and accurately.
• Clocking time and managing material usage.
• Maintaining equipment and notifying for service needs.
