Job summary

Afinitas is hiring 2nd shift fabricators to manufacture capital equipment for the concrete solutions industry. The 2nd shift runs Monday–Thursday from 2:45 pm to 12:45 am with a $2 per hour shift differential.

The role requires interpreting blueprints, setting up welding operations, and performing basic fabrication tasks while maintaining safety and quality standards. The team collaborates to resolve production challenges and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and interpret basic blueprints, specifications, and machined part prints.
• Beginning-level grinding knowledge.
• Beginning-level experience in MIG, TIG, and flex core welding.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings, route sheets, specifications to determine methods and techniques.
• Set up and operate welding equipment and controls; select rod, wire, tips, electrodes.
• Perform basic saw operations and painting as required.
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using micrometers and calipers.
• Assist with defect detection and report issues to supervisor.
• Complete necessary documentation to ensure quality and production requirements.
• Participate in team meetings to resolve cost, quality, or production issues.
• Maintain safe, clean, and orderly work area.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description

AFINITAS is Hiring 2nd Shift Fabricators! We manufacturer capital equipment for the concrete solutions industry and we are looking to hire 2nd shift fabricators to join our team. Our 2nd shift is Monday-Thursday from 2:45 pm to 12:45 am with a $2 an hour shift differential.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Interpret basic drawings, route sheets, specifications, and instructions to determine methods and techniques to be applied.
• Set up and operate metal arc, shielded arc, or oxyacetylene equipment for welding, brazing, and flame cutting operations; set current, amperage, gas pressures and controls; select rod, wire, tips, electrodes for specific job at hand; fit, position, and secure with holding devices.
• Perform basic saw operations and painting as required.
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
• May measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers.
• Assist with the detection of defective material, unusual conditions or operating difficulties and report to the supervisor.
• Complete necessary documentation to ensure quality and production requirements.
• Participate in team meetings to communicate and help resolve any cost, quality, or production issues; understand and apply the engineering change request process.
• Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Maintain equipment and work area in clean, orderly, and safe condition.
• Other duties as assigned.
