Afinitas is hiring a welding/fabrication technician to interpret basic drawings, set up welding equipment, and perform foundational welding and finishing tasks in a manufacturing environment. You will measure and inspect parts, document quality checks, and participate in safety and production improvements.

The position emphasizes teamwork, basic welding disciplines (MIG/TIG/flux-core), and the ability to multi-task across operations while maintaining quality and safety standards in a plant

• Ability to understand and interpret basic blueprints, specifications, and machined part prints.
• Beginning level grinding knowledge.

Responsabilidades

• Interpret basic drawings, route sheets, specifications, and instructions to determine methods and techniques to be applied.
• Set up and operate metal arc, shielded arc, or oxyacetylene equipment for welding, brazing, and flame-cutting operations; set current, amperage, gas pressures, and controls; select rod, wire, tips, electrodes for specific job at hand; fit, position, and secure with holding devices.
• Perform basic saw operations and painting as required.
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
• May measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments.
• Assist with the detection of defective material, unusual conditions, or operating difficulties and report to the supervisor.
• Complete necessary documentation to ensure quality and production requirements.
• Participate in team meetings to communicate and help resolve cost, quality, or production issues; apply engineering change request process.
• Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

Job Description

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Works in a plant/manufacturing environment that involves the use of industrial machinery and chemicals. The employee must be able to correctly wear and use any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required at the location.
