Job summary

Daifuku Intralogistics America Corporation is seeking a 1st Shift Fabrication Manager to lead the Fabrication and Welding team in Hobart, Indiana. The role focuses on timely production, team leadership, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field and at least 5 years of experience in control panel fabrication or manufacturing management, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in control panel fabrication or manufacturing management.

Responsibilities

• Manages the Fabrication and Welding team, including recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures
• Leads the Panel Manufacturing group in the fabrication, assembly, and testing of control panels; ensures delivery is on time and on budget and quality and safety standards are met
• Provides labor forecasting and daily planning of panel shop resources; tracks key department metrics
• Works with Engineering to address any bill of materials or drawing issues
• Pursues opportunities to grow the business through new client acquisition
• Implements process improvements using Lean and Kaizen practices
• Works with Planning and Shipping, Purchasing, and vendors to ensure on-time delivery and needed inventory
• Develops and implements quality assurance procedures
