Job summary

Daifuku in Hobart, Indiana is seeking a 1st Shift Fabrication Manager to lead the fabrication and welding team, ensuring safe, on-time production of control panels and assemblies. This onsite role requires strong leadership, reporting, and coordination with engineering and planning functions.

Bachelor’s degree and at least five years in panel fabrication or manufacturing management are preferred; salary is $90,000 to $120,000, with comprehensive benefits and an opportunity to drive Lean

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in control panel fabrication or manufacturing management.
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings.
• Experience with Lean/Kaizen practices and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Manages the Fabrication and Welding team, including recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, and scheduling personnel.
• Leads the panel manufacturing group in fabrication, assembly, and testing of control panels to meet schedule, budget and quality goals.
• Provides labor forecasting and daily planning of shop resources; tracks department metrics.
• Collaborates with Engineering to resolve BOM or drawing issues.
• Pursues opportunities to grow the business through new client acquisition.
• Develops and implements quality assurance procedures.
