Job summary

Daifuku North America is hiring for a 1st Shift Fabrication Manager in Hobart, IN. This on-site role oversees the Fabrication and Welding team, ensuring timely production and quality control.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years in control panel fabrication or manufacturing management, strong leadership, and expertise in reading electrical drawings. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred; SAP/ERP experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in control panel fabrication or manufacturing management
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings
• Knowledge of OSHA and UL508 guidelines
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems (SAP preferred)

Responsibilities

• Manages the Fabrication and Welding team including recruiting, training, scheduling, and coaching
• Leads panel manufacturing in fabrication, assembly, and testing of control panels
• Provides labor forecasting and daily planning of panel shop resources
• Collaborates with Engineering to address BOM or drawing issues
• Pursues opportunities to grow the business through new client acquisition
• Implements Lean and Kaizen process improvements
• Ensures on-time delivery and adherence to quality and safety standards
• Develops and implements quality assurance procedures
