Job summary

MLGW is seeking a Fabrication Welder to join the Central Shops team at 703 Beale Street, Memphis. The role involves welding, fabricating, repairing and installing metal components, with responsibilities spanning from blueprint interpretation to operation of shop equipment.

The candidate must hold a Fabrication Welding Apprenticeship or equivalent, possess ANSI welder qualifications (D1.1-90, D1.2-90), and have a valid Class A CDL.

Qualifications

• Must have completed approved Fabrication Welding Apprenticeship Program or equivalent experience and training.
• Must have welder qualifications under ANSI D1.1-90 and D1.2-90.
• Valid Class A CDL from state of residence is required.

Responsibilities

• Forge/repair metal items by heating, hammering, grinding and tempering.
• Perform electric arc, oxyacetylene, MIG and TIG welding on various metals.
• Read and interpret blueprints; lay out and draw prints for jobs.
• Operate division vehicle, overhead crane, forklifts, and shop machinery.
• Prepare worksheets, time/mileage and maintenance reports.
