Job summary

City of Fort Worth is seeking a Fabrication Welder for the Water Department / Field Operations Division. This role supports a 24/7 operation, reporting to a Sr.

Skilled Trade Tech, and performing fabrication, maintenance, and repair tasks on water/wastewater equipment. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, at least two years in metal fabrication, and the ability to pass a physical and drug screen.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with specialized training
• Two years of metal fabrication experience
• Must pass physical and drug screen

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, modify, and repair components of water and wastewater construction equipment
• Identify resources and allocate them effectively
• Monitor and evaluate quality, responsiveness, efficiency of methods and procedures
• Perform technical and complex tasks within the area of responsibility
• Assist in responding to public inquiries and complaints
• Confer with customers regarding problems and provide assistance as needed
• Ensure preventative maintenance on equipment is performed as required
• Perform other duties as required
