Job summary

icon Mechanical seeks a Manufacturing & Technology Production Coordinator to join its Fabrication team at the Granite City, IL headquarters. The role focuses on implementing standardized technology procedures for pipe and sheet metal fabrication and coordinating with VDC and project teams to align models, releases, revisions, and schedules.

Qualifications

• Experience in fabrication, construction operations, VDC coordination, or shop production environments preferred.
• Reading construction drawings, spool sheets, and ISO drawings.
• Familiarity with fabrication tracking tools such as MSuite, Excel-based tracking, or similar production management systems.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and shifting production schedules.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working with new technology and digital workflows.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with shop personnel, VDC teams, project managers, and purchasing.

Responsibilities

• Partner with shop leadership to implement and maintain standardized technology procedures for pipe and sheet metal fabrication.
• Coordinate with VDC and project teams to align fabrication models, spool/ISO releases, revisions, and production schedules.
• Manage and optimize shop scheduling to ensure efficient utilization, balanced workloads, and on-time delivery.
• Track and report fabrication productivity metrics, including status updates in MSuite/Excel, and identify process improvements.
• Support digital tool integration, including spool management platforms, tracking systems, and fabrication workflow technology.
• Coordinate material availability through take-offs, procurement support, and collaboration with purchasing and project management teams.
• Maintain fabrication documentation and compliance records, including weld tracking, MTRs, and QA/QC support.
• Provide general operational support to shop leadership, assisting with daily coordination tasks, troubleshooting technology issues, and improving overall shop efficiency.
