Valmont Industries in Valley, Nebraska seeks a Fabrication Technician to fabricate components, interpret blueprints, and service complex systems. You will work in the Global Engineered Manufacturing Solutions team, performing welding, assembly, and field support with travel up to 25% internationally.

This role requires 2–5 years of relevant experience, ability to operate shop tools and heavy equipment, and strict adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to pass demonstration and knowledge test relative to mechanical knowledge and welding.
• Ability to safely learn to operate saw, iron worker, shear, cutting torch, drill press, lathe, and mill, brake press.
• Must be able to operate powered industrial equipment including forklifts, scissor lifts.
• Have ability to interpret complex blueprints as well as work from verbal instructions.

Responsabilités

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings to understand project specifications and requirements.
• Fabricate custom components and assemblies using a variety of materials, including metals, plastics, and composites.
• Perform welding tasks, including GMAW, GTAW and SMAW welding, ensuring strong, precise welds that meet project specifications.
• Use tools such as saws, shears, and plasma cutters to accurately cut and shape materials.
• Assemble fabricated parts into final products or subassemblies, ensuring proper fit, alignment, and function.
• Rig and move heavy loads using cranes, hoists, and other lifting equipment, following all safety protocols.
• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and project specifications, making adjustments as necessary.
• Maintain and perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Apply industrial math skills, including measurements, calculations for cutting and assembly, geometric and trigonometric computations, and conversions between metric and imperial units to ensure precision in fabrication tasks.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of materials and equipment.
