Job summary

Core & Main, based in St. Louis, is a leader in reliable infrastructure with a focus on water, wastewater, storm drainage and fire protection products.

This hands-on fabrication role involves examining orders, fabricating pieces, and safely handling materials in a temperature-varied environment. You will work with fabrication shop equipment, use hand tools, and ensure quality and safety standards are met while contributing to timely shipping and maintaining an organized work area.

Qualifications

• Must tolerate temperature variation.
• Lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass pre-employment assessments.
• Metal work experience preferred.
• Experience with fabrication shop equipment.
• Pipe fabrication ( Cutting, Threading, Grooving, Welding ) experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Examine customer order specs from drawings, work orders, or blueprints to determine the characteristics of the finished item, materials to be used, and machine setup requirements.
• Fabricate work piece as determined by work order specifications.
• Retrieves correct materials and performs various fabrication duties.
• Operating hand tools, making cuts, threads, and grooving pipe.
• Examines work piece visually, by touch, or using tape rule, calipers, or gauges to ensure product meets desired standards.
• Packages for shipping.
• Installs protective devices to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
• Maintains condition of work area (i.e., free of trash, product in correct location, etc.).
• Follows company safety policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
