Job summary

Core & Main, based in St. Louis, is seeking a welder to join our metal fabrication team. You will permanently join metal parts using high heat and may specialize in processes to weld pipes and fittings, operating automatic or semi-automatic machines in a production setting.

Ideal candidates have a HS Diploma or GED, 0-2 years experience, and certification as a pressure pipe welder. You’ll work under supervision, ensuring weld quality and adherence to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Certified pressure pipe welder
• Experience in full pen welds and pipe fitting welds
• Ability to qualify and maintain all shop weld procedures
• Familiarity with API 1104 or ASME Section IX.

Responsibilities

• Hand welds various fittings to different sizes of pipes and welding joints.
• Interprets application job sheets and various sizes of welding fittings.
• Analyzes all welds to ensure they are free of porosity and discontinuities.
• Ensures all welds are visibly stamped or identified with markings to designate that welds were performed by a certified welder.
• Reviews the order ticket and determines whether the work to be performed meets the customer's specifications.
• Verifies the final product meets quality control standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Responsible for permanently joining metal parts using high heat application to form a permanent bond. May specialize in one of hundreds of different processes of welding to join metals together. Will use automatic or semi-automatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

Career Level Dimensions

Typical Training/Experience HS Diploma or GED, strongly preferred. 0-2 years of experience in area of responsibility.

Environmental Job Requirements

Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs in a physical environment.

Pay: $19.23 - $27.48 per hour
