Job summary

Core & Main is seeking a skilled Fabricator to manufacture a range of metal products using various materials and shop tools, ensure customer specifications are met, and prepare orders for shipment.

You will analyze capacity and production data to determine processes, resolve issues with machinery and packaging, and uphold quality control standards.

Qualifications

Job description

Job Summary

Fabricators manufacture assorted products using various raw materials, tools and their own hands. Manufacture customized products that meet customer specifications and prepare completed orders for shipment. Analyzes capacity and production data to determine manufacturing processes and required resources. Resolves issues related to production, machinery, processing, and/or packaging operations. Ensures quality control standards are maintained.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

Examines specifications of the customer’s order using drawings, work orders, or blueprints to determine the characteristics of the finished item, materials to be used, and machine setup requirements. Fabricates work piece as determined by work order specifications. Retrieves correct materials and performs various fabrication duties. Examines work piece visually, by touch, or using tape rule, calipers, or gauges to ensure Follows company safety policies and procedures. Coaches and trains lower-level fabricators on the proper execution of duties, ensures policies and procedures are followed. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Experience with fabrication shop equipment.

Career Level Dimensions
  • Typical Training/Experience HS Diploma or GED, strongly preferred.
  • 4-6 years of experience in area of responsibility.

  • Autonomy Under limited supervision, relies on experience and exercises independent judgment to determine the best approach to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Course of action is often determined by interpreting procedures and policies.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older
  • Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable
Environmental Job Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs in a physical environment.
