Job summary

Genuine Parts Company in Cedar Rapids, IA is hiring a Fabricator to manufacture belts and hoses, load and operate equipment, and assist with material handling. The role requires reading work orders, basic arithmetic, and lifting up to 70 lbs.

You will work with extruders, balers, and cutting tools in a team oriented environment. Starting pay is $20.50 per hour with semi-annual raises for the first 3 years and a $1.00 shift differential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and understand work orders.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs occasionally.
• Basic arithmetic using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate lightweight and heavy duty belts and hoses, and perform related duties.
• Operate extruder and related machinery.
• Baler production and sample cutting.
• Cleating, splicing, and lacing fabrication.
• Material handling and forklift operations.
• Use power and hand tools safely and accurately.
