Job summary

Panelmatic Inc. seeks an experienced and proactive Fabrication Supervisor to oversee daily fitting and welding operations in the base fabrication department. This role ensures efficient production, adherence to quality standards, and the development of team members.

The ideal candidate has hands-on metal fabrication experience and a proven track record of leadership in a manufacturing setting. The position emphasizes safety and collaboration with project managers and other departments.

Qualifications

• Three plus years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial fabrication setting for welded structural assemblies required
• Advanced knowledge of fabrication processes, tools, and machinery required
• Strong understanding of quality assurance procedures (QAPs) required
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills required
• Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and schematics required
• High levels of organizational and time management skills required
• High levels of analytical, observational, and active listening skills required
• High levels of reliability required
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required
• Ability to pass physical, drug, driving, and background checks required

Responsibilities

• Manage, train, and mentor a team of fitter / welder fabricators, ensuring compliance with safety standards and production goals
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback
• Assign tasks based on skill sets and project requirements, balancing workload among team members
• Coordinate with project managers and other departments to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Monitor production schedules and adjust staffing or resources to prevent delays
• Oversee the setup and operation of fabricating machines
• Ensure all products meet dimensional and quality requirements as per blueprints and schematics
• Review and approve final inspections before delivery
• Identify and resolve fabrication issues, minimizing downtime and waste
• Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality
• Maintain accurate records of production activities, equipment maintenance, and team performance
• Report key performance indicators (KPIs), including productivity and material usage
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
• Perform other duties as assigned
