Job Description
As Fabrication Shop Supervisor, you will be responsible for the daily operations of the fabrication shop, ensuring efficient and effective production of welded assemblies according to ASME IX by assigning tasks to individuals, monitoring quality, maintaining safety standards, and adhering to production schedules. This includes production problem solving, identifying areas of improvement, and resource optimization.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities
- Ensure production processes comply with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accuracy and completeness of documentation to meet quality, production standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Communicate expectations to team members and evaluate their performance.
- Assign work based on production processes, policies, schedules, work orders, equipment capacity, and employee capabilities.
- Meet production demands aligned with company objectives.
- Respond effectively to schedules and product flow to supervise manufacturing operations.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
- Ensure a safe and efficient workflow in the fabrication shop.
- Compile production reports and provide updates to management.
- Use resources and assets efficiently and correctly.
- Ensure compliance with safety and housekeeping standards.
- Promote company policies and the Quality Improvement program within departments.
- Provide training, support, and guidance to develop employee skills and safety practices.
- Offer objective feedback to support employee growth.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes, including welding, cutting, and assembly techniques.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- High commitment to quality standards.
- Effective problem-solving skills for production issues.
- Deep knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills across teams and departments.
- Experience working within an ISO Quality Management System or similar.
- Experience with KPI metrics to meet production objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, production management, mechanical engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in manufacturing.
- Proficiency with ERP systems.
- Ability to read and interpret weld processes according to AWS and ASME Section IX.
- Practical knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
