Job summary

National Products in Seattle, WA is seeking a hands-on Fabrication Shop Lead to set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC laser cutting, brake press, and other fabrication equipment to produce high-quality metal components. You will mentor junior staff, read technical drawings, and ensure safety and quality standards are met.

You will work on-site with a team to meet production goals, learn multiple fabrication processes, and contribute to a Lean/5S environment.

Qualifications

• CNC laser cutting and/or brake press experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work orders, and measurements.
• Mechanical aptitude with ability to learn multiple fabrication equipment.
• Previous experience mentoring, teaching, or leading others through processes.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC laser cutting equipment for sheet metal and tubing; support welding as needed.
• Set up and operate CNC press brake and other fabrication machinery as trained.
• Set up and operate drill presses for drilling, tapping, and countersinking.
• Mentor and support junior personnel in the fabrication shop.
• Read work orders and drawings; verify material type, thickness, dimensions.
• Ensure quality, safety standards, and 5S housekeeping in the shop.
• Load/unload materials, perform first-piece and in-process inspections.
• Troubleshoot basic issues and escalate complex problems to supervisor.
