Job summary

McKenney’s Fab Shop Safety Manager will ensure a safe and compliant environment in our metal fabrication shops, enforcing safety protocols onsite and offsite to reduce injuries and liabilities. The role requires hands-on leadership, regular inspections, and collaboration with shop superintendents and logistics leaders.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in safety management within manufacturing, solid regulatory knowledge (OSHA/NIOSH/DOT), and strong MS Office skills, with OSHA 501 credentials or

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in applied safety management in manufacturing/fabrication.
• Knowledge of OSHA, NIOSH, and DOT regulations.
• OSHA 501 or equivalent training credentials.
• Pursuing CSP/ARM/OHST/CIH is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Implement and evolve safety policies and procedures for fabrication operations.
• Assist Superintendents with evaluating safety risks for tools/equipment and ensure guarding, SOPs, and training.
• Conduct regular safety inspections of equipment, machinery, tools, and work areas.
• Perform root cause analyses on incidents and ensure corrective actions.
• Maintain visibility in the shop and engage with employees on safety concerns.
• Coordinate safety training for fabrication shops and warehouses.
• Support corporate safety initiatives and OSHA compliance documentation.
