Qualifications

• 3–5 years in structural steel fabrication, quality control, or related industrial manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, structural shop drawings, specifications, and inspection procedures.
• Detail‑oriented and highly organized with strong documentation skills.
• Solid understanding of structural steel fabrication processes and shop practices.
• Independent evaluation of fabrication work and sound quality decisions.
• Safety‑oriented with safe work habits.
• Strong communication skills with shop personnel, supervisors, customers, and inspectors.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final inspections of structural steel assemblies, weldments, and fabricated components.
• Verify compliance with approved shop drawings, customer specs, contract requirements, and industry codes.
• Conduct dimensional inspections using measuring instruments.
• Inspect fit-up, material prep, welding, bolting, and fabrication activities.
• Review material traceability, mill test reports, and fabrication documentation.
• Monitor conformance to Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and welding codes.
• Document inspection results and maintain quality records per ABM’s Quality Management System.
• Identify, document, and track nonconforming materials and corrective actions.
• Communicate quality concerns to supervisors and project teams.
• Assist in internal audits, customer inspections, and third‑party audits as required.
