Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in structural steel fabrication, quality control, quality assurance, or related industrial manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, structural steel shop drawings, specifications, and inspection procedures.
• Strong documentation skills and detail orientation.
• Understanding of structural steel fabrication processes and shop practices.
• Ability to evaluate fabrication work independently and make quality-related decisions.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final inspections of structural steel assemblies, weldments, and fabricated components.
• Verify compliance with approved shop drawings, customer specifications, contract requirements, and applicable industry codes.
• Conduct dimensional inspections using measuring instruments, including tape measures, calipers, squares, and levels.
• Inspect fit-up, material preparation, welding, bolting, and fabrication activities across the manufacturing process.
• Review and verify material traceability, mill test reports, and fabrication documentation.
• Monitor conformance to Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and welding codes.
• Document inspection results and maintain quality records.
• Identify, document, and track nonconforming materials and corrective actions.
• Communicate quality concerns to supervisors and project teams.
• Participate in internal audits, customer inspections, and third-party audits.
