Job summary

High Plains Steel Services is seeking a Fabrication Assistant QCI to join our Quality team. You will perform fit‑up and final inspections of fabricated steel, verify drawings and project documents against requirements, and document nonconformances to ensure issues are corrected before downstream production.

You will work closely with Production to address deficiencies, maintain accurate inspection records, and help keep our QSMS compliant.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of steel fabrication experience.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings and inspection requirements.
• Experience with AISC and AWS codes and practices.

Responsibilities

• Inspect fabricated steel: perform fit-up and final inspections against drawings, criteria, and QSMS.
• Identify & document nonconformances and maintain inspection records and logs.
• Work with Production to correct issues and ensure timely, safe delivery.
