High Plains Steel Services is seeking a Fabrication Assistant QCI to join our Quality team. You will perform fit‑up and final inspections of fabricated steel, verify drawings and project documents against requirements, and document nonconformances to ensure issues are corrected before downstream production.
You will work closely with Production to address deficiencies, maintain accurate inspection records, and help keep our QSMS compliant.
Are you the person who notices when something isn't right and takes the time to verify it before it becomes a bigger problem?
Do you have hands‑on steel fabrication experience and want to use that knowledge to help ensure every part and assembly leaving the shop meets the requirements?
If so, we're looking for our next Fabrication Assistant Quality Control Inspector (QCI) to join the High Plains Steel Services team.
As a Fabrication Assistant QCI, you'll work as a full‑time member of our Quality team, supporting the QCI by performing and documenting fit‑up and final inspections of fabricated steel. You'll verify work against drawings, applicable requirements, and our Quality and Safety Management System (QSMS), identify and document nonconforming work, and work with Production to correct issues before they travel downstream.
At High Plains Steel Services, quality isn't something we check at the end. It's something we protect throughout the fabrication process.
Our Quality team plays an important role in making sure the steel we produce is built correctly, documented accurately, and ready to represent the High Plains name when it leaves our shop.

Quality and Production have the same end goal: delivering a quality product safely, on time, and under budget. You'll communicate inspection findings, help Production understand required corrections, and elevate unresolved issues to the QCI.
