Job summary

nVent is seeking a Production Lead to guide a team in achieving daily manufacturing targets with emphasis on safety, quality, and timely delivery.

You will mentor operators, implement training plans for new hires, and ensure adherence to standard work while supporting continuous improvement across the line.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of production work experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Windows Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet.
  • Expertise in the operations of the assigned production process.
  • Proven knowledge of safety policies and procedures.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication abilities, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to follow detailed assembly instructions and procedures.
  • Capability to train operators on standard work and drive continuous improvement efforts.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a rapidly changing business environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support your team to meet daily business unit goals, ensuring flawless communication, safety, quality, and delivery.
  • Actively engage in training efforts, developing and implementing comprehensive training plans for new hires and current team members.
  • Fill in for team members as needed to maintain seamless production flow, ensuring no disruptions due to absences.
  • Champion lean principles by promoting continuous improvement and waste reduction through Lean methodology.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and promote a behavior-based safety culture, ensuring the well-being of your team.
  • Foster quality improvements through mentoring on quality standards, identifying errors, and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Ensure timely delivery by efficiently managing work flow, identifying and resolving barriers, and promoting takt time.
  • Serve as a backup to the Production Supervisor, providing leadership and support as needed.
