Job summary

Sanmina Corporation in Houston seeks a Fabrication Supervisor to lead daily metal fabrication operations, including laser cutting, CNC punching, and forming. You will drive safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity while coordinating with production planning, engineering, quality, maintenance, and downstream teams.

The role requires hands-on knowledge of steel sheet and plate fabrication, CNC equipment, drawings, tolerances, tooling, and lean manufacturing principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a engineering field required.
• 2–5+ years hands-on experience in precision fabrication or heavy manufacturing.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam)
• Knowledge of metalworking techniques (CNC machining, sheet metal, laser cutting, welding) or semiconductor processes
• Familiarity with SPC, GD&T, and ERP/MES systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on leadership to establish and maintain safety and quality on the fabrication shop floor.
• Translate production schedules into clear priorities and assign labor, machines, and tooling.
• Monitor safety, quality, delivery, and productivity to meet SQDCP targets.
• Coordinate with Planning, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and downstream operations to ensure flow.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, 5S, standard work, and Kaizen.
• Ensure proper setup of CNC laser cutting, punching, bending, forming, rolling, drilling, and related processes.
• Support optimization of cutting parameters and nesting to maximize material utilization.
• Manage equipment inspections, maintenance coordination, and tooling readiness.
• Develop operator skills through training, performance reviews, and coaching.
