Job summary

Sanmina Corporation Fremont is seeking a highly experienced Fabrication Operations Director to lead end-to-end manufacturing for complex sheet metal and fabricated components. You will optimize shop-floor processes, drive safety and quality, and align production with strategic plant goals.

The role requires 10+ years in manufacturing with strong leadership, Lean/CI expertise, and capability in ERP/MRP-driven scheduling. ITAR facility and U.S. citizenship or permanent residency are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical field or equivalent years experience in fabrication.
10+ years of manufacturing fabrication experience, with at least 8 years in a management or senior supervisory role overseeing production operations.
Hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication or custom metal manufacturing and core fabrication processes (punching, press brake bending, welding, surface finishing).

Responsibilities

Oversee daily execution of production schedules across departments to ensure on-time delivery targets.
Drive Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives (5S, Standard Work, Waste Reduction) to boost efficiency and reduce cycle time.
Monitor OEE, scrap rate, and labor utilization; take corrective actions as needed.
Coordinate with Engineering to introduce new products (NPI) smoothly and resolve issues.
