STS Aerospace in Laconia, NH is seeking a Fab Mechanic - Mold Prep & Trim to set up and operate abrasive equipment for precise cosmetic and dimensional prep of assemblies. The role requires handling chemicals and using hand tools to grind, cut, and sand walls to spec, with routine checks for conformance and timeliness.

Two shifts available with differential and requirements to be dependable and capable of lifting up to 25 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 1–3 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily and follow safety procedures.

Responsabilités

• Performs visual and dimensional checks on materials to validate conformance to blueprints and instructions.
• Sets up and operates abrasive, squaring, deburring, and sizing equipment to meet cosmetic and dimensional requirements.
• Uses hand tools to grind, cut, or sand walls to specified limits.
• Uses chemicals such as chemlock, acetone, and alcohol for part preparation.
• Prepares parts for curing in ovens prior to molding operations.
• Frequently lifts/moves up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.

STS Aerospace in Laconia, NH is searching for a candidate for Fab Mechanic -Mold Prep & Trim to join the team. This position is responsible for the set up and operation of abrasive, squaring, deburring, and sizing equipment to prepare assemblies and details to acceptable cosmetic and dimensional requirements. Use hand tools to grind, cut, or sand walls to acceptable limits and specifications. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:45am - 3:15pm

2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday, 3:15pm - 1:45am with $1.00 shift differential

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs visual and dimensional checks on materials, assemblies, tube details, components and finished products to validate conformance to blueprints and instructions by customer and to company operating procedures
• Sets up and operates abrasive, squaring, deburring, and sizing equipment to prepare assemblies and details to acceptable cosmetic and dimensional requirements.
• Use hand tools to grind, cut, or sand walls to acceptable limits and specifications.
• Uses chemicals, such as, but not limited to; chemlock, acetone, and alcohol for the preparation of parts for the next process.
• Prepares parts for curing in ovens in preparation for molding operations.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Consistently, regularly and dependably at work and on time.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed

Education, Certifications, Licenses, & Registrations
