Job summary

SPX Madison, AL, is seeking a Machine Operator II to operate a range of fabricating machines that cut, bend and form metal parts. You will read blueprints, set up equipment, inspect outputs, and participate in troubleshooting to ensure quality.

The role requires 3–5 years in manufacturing, experience with fabricating machinery, and ability to read a tape measure. Forklift and overhead crane operation are included in daily duties.

Qualifications

• Read a tape measure and convert fractions to decimals.

Responsibilities

• Sets-up and operates machines in accordance with procedures and guidelines.
• Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately and timely.
• Performs minimal programming on machines.
• Cuts and inspects parts, ensures correct labeling and sorting.
• Assists in machine trouble shooting when needed.
• Interprets blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Safely uses hand tools, measuring tape, and equipment.
• Operates an overhead crane and a forklift.
