Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Chicago seeks an Assistant Site Quality Specialist to confirm fabrication and installation meet project drawings, specifications, codes, and contract documents. You will support the quality program, help develop Inspection and Test Plans, and ensure proper material receipt and traceability.

Responsibilities include inspecting products, reviewing quality docs for compliance, and assisting with acceptance inspections during turnover.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 4 years quality management experience.
• Or Associate Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Welding Technology, Nondestructive Examination or related field with 2 years quality management experience.
• Or Bachelor Degree in Welding Engineering, Construction Management, Welding Technology, Nondestructive Examination or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Advanced technical writing experience.
• Strong computer and communications media skills.
• Must be detailed oriented.
• Certified Welding Inspector-AWS preferred.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the country where this position is located.

Responsibilities

• Confirm fabrication/installation activities are performed and documented per project drawings, specs, codes and contract documents.
• Understand quality program and support area or group of work.
• Assist in developing and implementing Inspection and Test Plans for project review and acceptance.
• Inspect received materials and stored items per quality program and contract documents.
• Assist in reviewing quality verification documents for compliance.
• Participate in walk-downs and turnover processes and perform acceptance inspections when required.
