Signal Metal Industries, Inc. is seeking a Fabrication Inspector for day shift to join our team in Irving, TX. Schedule is Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM, with overtime Fridays as required. Pay is $24–$28/hour depending on experience.

The role involves inspecting fabricated steel components and welds to meet drawings, specifications, and customer requirements, with opportunities to learn and participate in quality audits and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years fabrication inspection experience.
• 5–10 years welding experience.
• Strong knowledge of AWS D1.1 and ASME requirements.
• Knowledge of welding symbols and fabrication drawings.
• Ability to interpret sectional views, dimensions, tolerances, and datum points.
• Working knowledge of NDT methods and their applications (VT/MT/UT/PT/RT).
• Experience with quality procedures, inspection documentation, and audits.
• Proficient with inspection tools and documentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of fabricated steel components.
• Inspect welds for compliance with AWS D1.1, ASME, drawings and specifications.
• Review fabrication drawings, welding symbols and work orders.
• Verify dimensions, tolerances, weld sizes and other requirements with inspection tools.
• Perform or coordinate NDT inspections (VT, MT, UT, PT, RT).
• Identify nonconforming conditions and communicate findings to Quality Supervisor.
• Complete inspection reports and quality documentation accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and fabrication staff to resolve quality issues.
• Support quality audits and ensure inspection procedures are followed.
