Job summary

The role requires reading fabrication drawings, documenting results, and guiding welders to fix issues. AWS D1.1 knowledge and 2+ years of experience preferred; ability to operate cranes and lift 50 lbs is required.

Qualifications

• Experience verifying steel fabrication against codes (AWS, AISC) and shop drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and specs.
• Two years of steel fabrication inspection experience or equivalent.
• Fluent English, good communication with shop staff and management.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional and visual inspection of parts, sub-assemblies, and finished products.
• Inspect fabrication processes, incoming materials, and final assemblies for conformity.
• Document inspection results and non-conformities with heat numbers and drawings.
• Ensure welds and fabrications meet approved shop drawings and codes.
• Coordinate with welders to remedy issues and ensure certified welding standards.
