Shamrock Metal is seeking an estimator who thinks like a fabricator, not just crunches numbers. You will develop strategic bids with detailed cost breakdowns, material alternatives, risks, and clear recommendations to support leadership decisions.

This is an ownership role requiring independence and presenting solutions to the Senior Estimator. You will verify material availability, manage RFI and change order processes, and coordinate with vendors and outsourced processors to ensure feasible,

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of estimating in architectural or ornamental metals
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and shop drawings with accuracy
• Familiar with RFI workflows, change order pricing, and risk evaluation
• Self-directed, detail-oriented and resourceful in moving a project forward

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed, strategic project estimates with costs, VE options, material alternates, risks, and recommendations
• Present estimating approach and data to Senior Estimator and leadership to support pricing strategy
• Manufacturability evaluation of drawings and specs for fabrication feasibility
• Verify material availability and obtain up-to-date vendor pricing
• Coordinate outside services (laser cutting, machining, stretch forming) as needed
• Manage RFI process to clarify gaps or conflicts in the bid set
• Accurately price and issue change orders when scope evolves
• Build relationships with clients to gain workload priority and improve win rate
• Review shop drawings for variances and downstream impacts
• Participate in handoff meetings to communicate scope and cost drivers
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Shop, and Engineering to align feasibility and capacity
• Maintain clean documentation and organized estimate files using Bluebeam, Excel, and Office
