Job summary

Shamrock Metal in Las Vegas, NV is seeking an estimator who thinks like a fabricator, not just crunches numbers. You will develop strategic bids with detailed cost breakdowns, material options, risks, and recommendations to guide leadership decisions. You will own RFI and change order processes and coordinate with vendors and outsourced processors.

This is an ownership role requiring independent work, presenting solutions to the Senior Estimator, and driving bids to handoff with forward momentum.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of estimating in architectural or ornamental metals or related fabrication.
• Strong understanding of metal finishes and fabrication methods.
• Ability to read drawings and interpret specifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed, strategic project estimates with costs, options, risks, and recommendations.
• Present estimating approach and data to leadership to support pricing strategy.
• Evaluate drawings/specs to determine manufacturability and required modifications.
• Verify material availability and obtain up-to-date vendor pricing.
• Coordinate outside services such as tube laser cutting and machining.
• Manage the RFI process to clarify gaps or design inconsistencies.
• Accurately price and issue change orders as scope evolves.
• Build relationships with clients to understand workload priorities and win rates.
• Review shop drawings for variances and downstream impacts.
• Participate in handoff meetings to communicate scope and cost drivers.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Shop, and Engineering to align estimates with feasibility.
• Maintain clean documentation using Bluebeam, Excel, PM Dashboard, and MS Office.
