Job summary

Konecranes is seeking a hands-on Fabrication Team Lead to guide fabrication personnel in producing crane components on the Houston shop floor. The role emphasizes safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of welding, fitting, and assembly activities in line with engineering requirements.

The ideal candidate will lead welders and fabricators, maintain first-pass quality, and coordinate with Engineering and Quality teams to resolve issues while upholding safety standards and 5S practices.

Qualifications

• Experience leading fabrication, welding, structural steel, heavy equipment, or industrial manufacturing operations.
• Strong leadership and ability to motivate hourly production personnel.
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, inspection reports, and engineering documentation.
• Knowledge of AWS D14.1 welding standards.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead welders, fitters, fabricators, and production personnel.
• Set performance expectations and ensure safety, quality, productivity, and attendance.
• Drive safety-first culture and 5S on the shop floor.
• Coordinate manpower, equipment, and resources to meet production schedules.
• Ensure fabrication processes adhere to drawings, work instructions, and welding procedures.
• Drive first-pass weld quality and minimize rework.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality to resolve fabrication issues.
