Job summary

Pride Mobility Products®/Quantum Rehab® is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented sewist to assemble fabric components for furniture upholstery on site in Pontotoc, MS. You will follow sewing diagrams, use specialized sewing machines, and maintain quality by ensuring proper alignment and stitch density.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement, with duties adaptable as needed. The position is full-time, on-site, with an hourly wage of $17.75, equating to about $36k–$38k

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year sewing experience in a furniture sewing operation or equivalent.
  • Ability to follow sewing diagrams, work instructions and quality standards.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and willingness to learn.
  • Capacity to sit for extended periods and lift up to 15 lbs. as needed.
  • Attention to safety rules and adherence to procedures.
  • Detail oriented with focus on stitch quality and notching alignment.

Responsibilities

  • Sew cut fabric parts into designated subassemblies per diagrams and work instructions.
  • Operate sewing machines following manufacturers’ operating instructions.
  • Ensure notches are aligned and stitches per inch meet standards.
  • Select correct thread colors and maintain consistent sewing quality.
  • Perform routine light maintenance on sewing machines.
  • Observe safety rules and report accidents or injuries promptly.
  • Complete the annual CTPAT Security Training.
  • Collaborate with Pride departments to exceed expectations.
  • Support continuous improvement and apply sound business judgment.
  • Explicitly, Pride may modify duties or assign other duties as needed.

Description

DESCRIPTION/JOB SUMMARY

Operate specialized sewing equipment to assemble cut fabric components according to sewing diagrams, work instructions, and quality standards

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
  • Refer to sewing diagrams and style-specific work instructions to sew cut fabric parts into designated subassemblies
  • Operate specialized sewing machines in accordance with the manufacturers’ operating instructions
  • Ensure all fabric notches are properly aligned and use the required number of stitches per inch when sewing parts together
  • Select the correct sewing thread according to the color chart and ensure parts are sewn consistently without bunching the fabric
  • Perform routine light maintenance on sewing machines, including cleaning, oiling, and making minor mechanical adjustments to maintain consistent stitch quality
  • Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management
  • Complete the annual CTPAT Security Training
  • Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment
  • Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations
  • Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary

  • Current or previous successful employment experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred
PREFERRED EDUCATION
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
