Job summary

Pride Mobility Products/Quantum Rehab is seeking a sewing operator in Pontotoc, MS to assemble fabric components according to sewing diagrams and work instructions. The role requires operating specialized sewing equipment and maintaining quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include following diagrams, ensuring proper stitch density, color-m matched threads, routine machine maintenance, and strict adherence to safety rules.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend work instructions.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods and lift/push/pull up to 15 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Refer to sewing diagrams and work instructions to sew fabric parts into subassemblies.
• Operate sewing machines per manufacturer instructions.
• Maintain alignment of fabric Notches and stitches per inch for quality accuracy.
• Select correct thread according to color chart and ensure consistent stitching.
• Perform routine light maintenance on sewing machines to maintain stitch quality.
• Adhere to safety rules and report accidents or injuries promptly.
• Complete the annual CTPAT Security Training.
• Collaborate with Pride departments to exceed expectations.
• Pride may modify duties as needed.

DESCRIPTION/JOB SUMMARY

Operate specialized sewing equipment to assemble cut fabric components according to sewing diagrams, work instructions, and quality standards

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

• Refer to sewing diagrams and style-specific work instructions to sew cut fabric parts into designated subassemblies
• Operate specialized sewing machines in accordance with the manufacturers' operating instructions
• Ensure all fabric notches are properly aligned and use the required number of stitches per inch when sewing parts together
• Select the correct sewing thread according to the color chart and ensure parts are sewn consistently without bunching the fabric
• Perform routine light maintenance on sewing machines, including cleaning, oiling, and making minor mechanical adjustments to maintain consistent stitch quality
• Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management
• Complete the annual CTPAT Security Training
• Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment
• Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations
• Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• At least 1 years of sewing experience in a furniture sewing operation or training in an equivalent function

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• At least 2 years of sewing experience in a furniture sewing operation preferred
• Current or previous successful employment experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred

PREFERRED EDUCATION

• High School Diploma or GED preferred

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now, or in the future
