Job summary

Lovesac is seeking a Manager, Pre-Production & Fabric Development to own the fabric development lifecycle from research to production readiness. You will shape materials for Lovesac collections, balancing aesthetics with technical requirements to meet quality and environmental standards.

Collaborating with Design, Sourcing, Production, Quality, Compliance, and Sustainability, you will drive innovation, manage budgets, and guide a team while meeting product-to-market timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Science, or related field.
• 3–5+ years of fabric R&D experience.
• Strong understanding of fabric properties, production processes, and sourcing.
• Ability to develop and commercialize new fabric concepts.
• Excellent communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced matrix environment with tight deadlines.
• Uphold Lovesac values in all projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead research and development of new fabrics for Lovesac collections.
• Monitor fabric trends and attend fabric fairs, mill appointments, and market research.
• Partner with design and sourcing to align development with product vision, timelines & costs.
• Negotiate pricing, timelines, and terms with material suppliers.
• Conduct and review fabric testing to ensure performance and quality standards.
• Identify and implement eco-friendly fabric options with the sustainability team.
• Develop and manage fabric development budgets.
• Train and mentor team members on fabric development processes.
